Developed by Suggesto and Aedeka, it offers itineraries, graphic and geographical maps, which, thanks to augmented reality, allow visitors to enter the chapels and admire the spectacular sculptural and pictorial scenes.

The application for smartphones and tablets - downloadable free of charge from the Android and Apple platforms - is in five languages: Italian, French, English, German and Spanish.  Each Sacro Monte offers general and thematic routes to discover the sculptural and pictorial masterpieces signed by the greatest artists from the Renaissance to the Baroque, from Rococo to Neoclassicism. It also allows you to have fun with interactive quiz games designed for families. You can wander freely from chapel to chapel, consulting the detailed maps. Or comfortably listen to the audio guide that accompanies the visitor along the routes.

The App was also the subject of study in the Marketing course at the University of Insubria, Varese. The lesson on the project was held on 23 May in Varese, Department of Economics. The speakers were: for the Municipality of Varese, deputy mayor Ivana Perusin, culture councillor Enzo Laforgia and Laura Severgnini; for the Sacri Monti Management Authority, president Francesca Giordano and director Nadia Salvagno, Stefano Aietti and Francesca Coppo; and Mercè López of Suggesto-Aedeka, who developed the App.

As Prof. Roberta Pezzetti stated, this is "a strategic opportunity not only for the tourist promotion of the individual territories in which the Sacri Monti are located, but also to stimulate new routes of slow and sustainable cultural tourism".
