Car-free city centres!

Grifo parking, the parking and transportation service for the hotel guests in the city centre of Sirmione on Lake Garda, after an experimental period, is now in full service. The eco-friendly project supported by the Municipality and developed by Sirmione servizi, in collaboration with Hotel and Restaurant Consortia, has provided excellent results in reducing car traffic inside the historical centre. 

C02 emission from cars has dropped significantly (two tons less CO2 emissions in just two months) and, at the same time, tourists are extremely happy with this service: once they arrive in Sirmione, they leave their car in the car park and are accompanied with their luggage to their hotels by electric cars.

Some numbers: 32 hotels involved, 250 parking spaces available, 12.852 people accompanied with 14.694 pieces of luggage and 5.375 trips made, 17 empolyees and 7 electric cars used.

The software system handling the parking check-ins and check-outs with reservation has been developed by Suggesto and will be further improved in the near future.
