Our experience in the Beacon Recommender project
How to help tourists visiting our places with personalized suggestions on activities and points of interest? How to guide them during the visit with targeted alerts on their smartphones? How to inform tourists about less known but not less stimulating paths? The Beacon Recommender project is developed by Suggesto in collaboration with IDM - South Tyrol and the Free University of Bolzano. We are experimenting the use of advanced technologies for personalized recommendation and targeted localization through beacons in South Tyrol. This is part of the Beacon South Tyrol project, an extension of the official South Tyrol Info App.
We discussed these topics during the session "Enhanced Tourism Experiences with the Internet of Things and Recommendation Technologies" which we held in Merano on May 3rd.
